Draconians
Draconians are the human-sized corruptions of dragon eggs. Shortly before the War of the Lance, the cleric Wyrllish, the mage Dracart and the ancient Red Dragon Harkiel developed a process to corrupt dragon eggs into draconians. The Dragonarmies of Takhisis initially used the already-captured eggs of good Metallic Dragons to create draconians with evil tendencies.
The Dragon Highlords used draconians as crack troops during the War of the Lance. Because of their connection to dragons, draconians are immune to dragonfear and seem to worship the evil dragons. Draconians are more likely to follow orders than the typical ogre or goblin (or mercenary, for that matter), some can use magic—clerical and magic-user spells, and each draconian has a special attack that is carried out at the end of its life. Draconians are immune to human diseases and are rumored to have a lifespan of nearly 1,000 years.
During the latter years of the War of the Lance, the desperate dragonarmies performed the corruption ritual on the eggs of evil Chromatic Dragons, resulting in draconians with good tendencies known as the Noble Draconians.
The "original" draconian types used during the War of the Lance are as follows: Baaz, Kapak, Sivak, Bozak and Aurak. Of these five types, Auraks are the only draconians without wings, and the Sivaks are the only ones who can truly fly.
The "noble" draconians are the Frost Draconian, Venom Draconian, Vapor Draconian, Lightning Draconian, and Flame Draconian. Of these five types, only the lightning and flame draconians can truly fly.
Baaz
Baaz Draconians are the smallest of their brethren, made from Brass Dragon eggs, and are commonly used as ground troops. They are usually of chaotic alignment and as a result are interested in getting what is best for them individually. Baaz wear disguises often, concealing their wings and scales underneath large hoods and masks when traveling through non-draconian lands. When a Baaz is killed, its body turns to stone, trapping whatever weapon killed it within the baaz's stony corpse. After a short time, the petrified body crumbles to dust.
Kapak
Kapak draconians are stealthy and cunning. They are cruel and succeed in missions of assassination and spying. They are suited to and like best the ordered military life. The males can be skilled assassins, while the females can use the innate healing abilities of the race in helping others. They are larger than the Baaz variant, and the males have venom glands. The females have healing saliva. Kapaks are comfortable with members of their own race but rarely others. When kapaks die, they turn into acid.
Aurak
The Aurak Draconians are among the most powerful of draconians, and were originally used as special agents of the Dragon Highlords because of their intelligence, cunning and magical abilities which they inherited from their Gold Dragon parents. Auraks stand approximately 7 feet tall, with thin limbs and no wings. Auraks have the ability to teleport short distances three times a day, and have shown an ability to exert some form of mind control. In battle, auraks must effectively be killed twice. The first time an aurak is "slain" it goes berserk and attacks wildly in melee, forgetting its magic abilities. When slain again, the aurak becomes "enchanted" and immolates itself and those around it, though it is immune to harm. After several rounds, the aurak explodes, injuring anything near it.
Bozak
Bozak Draconians are possibly the most magical of the draconian subraces, with the exception of their "enchanted" Aurak Draconian cousins. Created from the eggs of Bronze Dragons, bozaks are cruel warriors, only sparing a life when it is to their benefit. Bozaks explode when killed, injuring those unfortunate enough to be near them.
Sivak
Sivak Draconians are the only "true" draconians who are capable of flight; they are second to Aurak Draconians in power (among the true draconians). They generally attack with huge two-handed swords, but can also use their claws and/or armored tails. In addition to flight, sivaks have a unique (but limited) ability to shape-shift. When a sivak kills a humanoid-size or smaller creature, it may change into the shape of the victim. Once it shifts back to its regular shape, however, the ability to take the shape of the victim is lost—until the sivak kills again. A sivak will also assume the form of someone who has slain it: the "death shape" lasts for three days, after which the body will decompose into black soot.
Noble
Noble Draconians were created in an act of desperation near the end of the War of the Lance. After the good dragon eggs had been liberated, Lord Ariakas commanded that the ritual that created draconians be performed on the eggs of chromatic dragons who had fallen in battle.
Not understanding the laws of the Balance, Ariakas did not anticipate the result. As good is corrupted towards evil, so did the evil dragon eggs produce good draconians. Thus were the noble draconians born. There are five types: Flame Draconian, Frost Draconian, Lightning Draconian, Vapor Draconian, and Venom Draconian.
Most noble draconians were destroyed early after their creation, although a few managed to liberate themselves. Few noble draconians survive to this very day. It is not known whether or not they would be accepted into Teyr, or if they would even want to be accepted there.
Flame
Flame Draconians are created from the eggs of Red Dragons. They utilize a fiery rage in order to defeat the forces of evil. They have a fierce temper, and will explode into their fiery rage upon the slightest provocation. While they do fight for good, they have their own code of conduct which may not always agree with the laws of the land. They believe that one's weapons and tools are an extension of the self, and often use their fiery breath weapon to craft their own armor and weapons. Flame draconians have a limited ability to cast fireballs at their enemies, and explode into a massive ball of flame upon their deaths.
Frost
Frost Draconians are created from the eggs of White Dragons. They have inherited the limited intellect and short temper of white dragons, yet they invariably fight for good. They are aggressive when angered, rarely using sophisticated fighting techniques. When a frost draconian dies it turns into ice and explodes into icy shards. They are immune to cold, but vulnerable to fire.
Lightning
Lightning Draconians are created from the eggs of Blue Dragons. They fight ferociously for the cause of good, having the innate abilities of a paladin. They are highly social, and seek to find acceptance. They have a great disdain for metallic draconians. Lightning draconians also revere the gods of good, especially Kiri-Jolith. Beyond their paladin abilities, lightning draconians make use of their innate shocking grasp ability. When a lightning draconian dies, it explodes into a massive charge of electricity, arcing from creature to creature.
Vapor
Vapor Draconians are created from the eggs of Green Dragons. They make use of impressive combat skills and innate divine power drawn from mysticism, even prior to the Chaos War when mysticism was not normally available. Vapor draconians have an innate connection with nature, and dislike civilization. Upon being slain, a vapor draconian's body transforms into a cloud of acidic vapor.
Venom
Venom Draconians are created from the eggs of Black Dragons. Despite being somewhat bitter and reclusive, they still use their abilities to fight evil. The venom draconian has a poisonous bite, and dissolves into a pool of acid when slain. Venom draconians are also proficient in the ways of the rogue, especially with their sneak attack.
