Seraphin walked through a deep forest, looking for spell components to take. She hadn't found any yet, but looking was the hardest part. Wait...was that light ahead? She walked towards it, and found herself in a small meadow, surrounded by flowers and herbs. That's curious....a meadow in the middle of a damp forest, she thought, sitting down on a stump to think. She should write down a rough location of where this was. She pulled out ink and a plain quill, and a small amount of scroll paper. "Headed south, southwest for a few miles...yes that sounds right....came upon a dark, damp forest. Deep into forest, there was a sunny meadow with many spell components." She put the small scroll into one of her pockets. She smiled to herself and grabbed spell components, and went to leave, but found herself staring at a bush that she could have sworn just moved forward.

Uncurling from the ball she'd fallen asleep in, Secret gave a yawn. She'd fallen asleep in the middle of the forest last she'd checked, yet right infront of her was a meadow. It was dark last night when she'd settled down, there was a chance she'd missed it. Sitting up and rubbing her eyes she heard a sound on the breeze. Someone was coming closer. She dived into the nearest bush. Not because it might be scary, nothing was scary, but because it might decided she wasn't meant to be here and 'here' was nice. Looking out she saw someone enter the meadow, write something, pick something up and start to leave. Curious as to what was interesting enough to pick up, Secret edged forwards but froze when the figure turned round.

Seraphin blinked. She heard someone walking, and had a feeling somebody was behind her. She turned around, and looked left and right. "Hello? I can hear you rustling. Why don't you come out?" She really hoped it wasn't anything that had fangs, poison, or magic. She wasn't afraid of mages, but she disliked snakes and spiders. She even looked at the bush once more. Definetly not moving any closer. She sighed,"Seraphin, you'll scare yourself out of your robes one day." She started walking out towards the forest, but still had the feeling of something following her.

Arcis Tanton was exploring north of his hometown, and had come across a mysterious forest, and a meadow. It was very strange indeed . . . The young apprentice had always loved adventure, and this seemed like a great source of adventure. It was when he was walking through an area of thick underbrush that he spotted another person, a few feet away. It appeared to be some sort of magic-user, for they were wearing robes. As curious as he always was, Arcis spoke.
"Hello?" Who was this travelor? And why were they in the middle of the forest? "Who are you?"

"My name is Seraphin, who are you?" She walked towards the voice, curious of what was there. She knew it couldn't be an animal, which relieved her, but it could be someone unfriendly. Seraphin knew she shouldn't follow the voice without knowing who or what it was, but her curiousity was stronger than her common sense sometimes. So much for heading to the Inn of the Last Home.

"My name is Arcis Tanton," said the young mage, walking toward the stranger. He shouldn't be doing this, his common sense told him. But, then again, when did he ever listen to reason? When he stood in front of the stranger, who was apparently a wizard, he bowed in respect. This mage was obviously superior to him; he sensed an aura of power about her, and an apprentice must always be timid in the presence of a superior. "It is strange to see a mage in this forest," he continued, his voice curious. "What brings you to this place?" His bright blue eyes flashed, revealing within them that he meant her no harm. Perhaps he could learn from this mage.

"I was, well I guess you could call it adventuring. I came upon the forest, and started looking for spell components. In my search, I found this meadow. I found many spell components, and there's still some left, if you would like some," Seraphin smiled softly,"And what brings you?"

"Thank you, but I couldn't," Arcis said, offering her a smile in turn. "I don't mean to . . . intrude . . . on your adventure." He lowered his gaze to the ground below them before bringing it up again to meet her eyes. "So . . . you're a red-robed mage? It's not every day you meet a mage in the forest, and you're the first red-robe I've ever met."

Secret had been about to step out when this new person entered the meadow. Realising it would be rude to interupt, she simply stayed put and listened. It wasn't eavesdropping, she just didn't want to interrupt.

"I've met white robed mages before, but never an apprentice. And you aren't intruding at all, it's not my meadow. I was just leaving anyways,"She found herself talking more than she normally did.

Suddenly realising she was in the presense of at least one mage, Secret leaned forward, now more interested.

Seraphin heard a leaf rustle, and her head automatically snapped towards the sound. She saw what looked to be a topknot sticking out of the bush. She disliked kender, always going through her pockets when she wasn't paying attention. But maybe if she was nice, and distracted the kender with conversation, her spell components wouldn't be dropped. "Oh, hello there, little kender! Come on out, it's no use pretending you're not there when I see your topknot," she really hoped it was a real kender, not some branch.

Secret let go of the branch she was holding in front of her face a gave a sheepish grin before stepping forward. "I wasn't eavesdropping, honest. I didn't want to disturb you. Are you a mage? I've never seen a mage this close before. Can you do magic?"

Seraphin tried to give a stern look and said,"I'll turn you into a beetle, and stomp on you if you look through my pockets." She hoped the kender would be scared.

Secret gave a big grin. "Turn me into a beetle? That would certainly be interesting but if you do, could you not step on me, because though that would be interesting too, I don't want to die just yet, there's too much left to do."
